Email Templates - HTML Editor

What's the Template Designer?

The email template creator is a simplified, and user-friendly tool to create email templates through TapMango. This provides less fine-tuned features than the HTML editor, but does offer a simpler way to create various layouts.

Where to find it

	On the left-hand menu under Creatives > Campaign Templates
	On the Templates tab there are several pre-generated templates available for use. Use these templates as a base and edit them to fit your branding!
	On the Saved Templates tab find any previously created templates, or select Start From Scratch to create a new template.

How to use Rows and Content blocks

Use rows and content blocks to add elements to your template such as sections, headings, images, links, or icons. There is also a rich text editor included for the text-based elements.

Drag and Drop

From the Rows tab on the right-hand side drag and drop different row styles to structure email content seamlessly.
When the rows are placed in the email, click on the Content tab and drag and drop content blocks into the body of the email.

Quick Editing

Once a content block has been placed click on it to open the Content Properties on the right-hand side. Each type of content block has different content properties that can be edited, depending on the type of content block selected.

Easy to Organize

Once created, content can easily be:

Moved by clicking and dragging the move icon
Duplicated by clicking the 2 overlapping squares
Deleted by clicking the trash bin icon

Quick Testing

Quickly send a test to preview how the email will appear in a customer's inbox. To send the test, click Send Test near the top right and enter the email that should receive the test. 

Note: If you are sending a test and the email body includes "Special Tags" that would normally auto-fill with customer specific info (ex: customer name tag), then the system will look for a customer in the database that's associated with the test email and fill in the Special Tag fields with that customer's profile details. If no match is found, random customer data will fill in the tag(s).
The email subject line will show as a placeholder "Test Email from TapMango", this will update to the header entered during Quick Campaign or Campaign creation.

Saving

Click the Save Template button to save the current template. Choose to Save as a new template, or Replace a template to update an existing template.

What Content Is Available?

Special Links and Merge Tags

In the template creator these are found under the Special Links and Merge Tags options of the text-editor pop up while editing an text on the template.

Special Links

The "Special Links" menu has a drop list of special tags for the email. Special tags in the template creator appear as hyperlinks with pre-set text, or will turn highlighted text into a link.

Customer / Customer Profile	[[PROFILE_URL_LINK]]	A link to the customer's online profile, where they can edit information or complete their profile.
Customer / Customer Account	[[ACCOUNT_URL]]	A link to the customer's online profile where they can view their points balance and rewards available at your store.
Customer / Unsubscribe	[[UNSUBSCRIBE_URL]]	Email unsubscribe URL. This tag allows you to place the link anywhere in the email body. If this tag isn't added to a template, a soft footer with the unsubscribe URL will be automatically added to the bottom of the email template.
Customer / Online Sign Up	[[ONLINE_SIGN_UP_URL_LINK]]	A link for your customer to complete online sign up. This allows the customer to complete missing profile information based on what's required at your business, and enter a password to sign in again later on the mobile app or customer.tapmango.com
Referral / Friend Referral	[[REFER_FRIEND_URL_LINK]]	Your customer's unique friend referral link, to share with friends and invite them to sign up at your business.
Instant Deal / Instant Deal	[[INSTANT_DEAL_URL]]	A link to your instant deal. This should only be used when using the instant deal feature ** if used without an instant deal, this link will not display anything in the email.
Net Promoter / Net Promoter	[[NETPROMOTER_URL]]	Links to your net promoter survey - asking customers how likely they'll refer friends on a scale of 1 - 10 and those rating 9-10 are shown your social media links ans adked to leave a review.

Merge Tags

The merge tags list is a list of special tags, that appear as the tag text instead.

Campaign Header	[[HEADER]]	The header of your email - used on the 'header' portion of the send email action, or the subject of your quick campaign email
Campaign Text	[[TEXT]]	The body text of your email - this should always be used in templates that you will re-use with different text, and should only be used once.
Company Name	[[COMPANY_NAME]]	Displays your company Name, as shown in the top left corner of your http://portal.tapmango.com account
Location Name	[[LOCATION_NAME]]	Displays the name of the home location of the customer receiving the message. These names can be found on your list of devices on the dashboard.
Customer Name	[[NAME]]	Displays the customers name. Use caution with this in a text message, customers names could be long, causing you to exceed the text message character limit
Points Balance	[[POINT_BALANCE]]	Displays your customers point balance. This only displays the number and should be followed with your points label. Ex: [[POINT_BALANCE]] points or your current points: [[POINT_BALANCE]]
Wallet Balance	[[WALLET_BALANCE]]	Displays the customers wallet balance. This will include the dollar sign of your account's currency and 2 decimal places. Ex: $50.00
Company Address	[[COMPANY_ADDRESS]]	Displays the address of your business. If you have multiple locations the address that displays will be the home location of the customer being sent the email
Company Phone	[[COMPANY_PHONE]]	Displays the phone number of your business. If you have multiple locations the phone number that displays will be the home location of the customer being sent the email
Voucher Description	[[VOUCHER_DESCRIPTION]]	Used when the activity is also assigning a voucher. Displays the description of your voucher, plus an expiration date. Ex: Free Large Coffee (from 12/03 to 12/10)
Voucher Number	[[VOUCHER]]	Used when the activity is also assigning a voucher. Displays the voucher prefix, along with the assigned number. Ex: MISSU-7259f5

Content

The content panel is found on the right side, and general elements you can add to the template. You can have multiple pieces of content inside a single row.

Text	A basic text block. Has access to a rich text editor similar to the HTML email template editor. You can use this to change the styling, size, colour, etc of the text you type.
Image	An image block. You can upload any image you'd like and have access to sizing and some styling options for your image. You may even make the image a link to a web page of your choice. When adding the block you will need to select an image from your computer.
Button	A button block. This is a basic button you can style as you'd like such as size, colour, text, etc. You may have the button link to a webpage, email, phone number, or to send a text.
Divider	A simple dividing line to insert between content blocks that can be styled
Social	A block of social media icons. You may add or remove the social media icons and copy & paste in the links to your social media pages. There are different icon styles to choose from.
Dynamic	Custom TapMango content such as your online review buttons, net promoter block, or friend referral links specific to your customer's location.

Settings

The settings tab contains general options for the entire email template

Content Area Width	The width of the email template's content area. The maximum is 900 pixels, minimum 480 pixels. We recommend around 700 pixels to be sure most phones can have it, but the template should scale on most phones as well.
Content Area Alignement	The alignment of the email templates content area. Choose from Left or Center alignment.
Background Color	The background colour outside the content area - to the left and right of the email content
Content Area Background Color	The background colour of the content blocks. This colour applies to all content blocks, but the text colour can be set individually in each content block.
Default Font	The default font used through the entire template. Individual blocks may have font set separately as well if you do not want the same font through the entire template
Link Color	The default colour used for links in the content blocks. This can be set individually per content block or link as well.
