Currently there is no direct "wallet load" feature available with any of the TapMango POS integrations. However, there is a work around using TapMango products and campaigns that will allow you to load pre-set dollar amounts on to a customers wallet.
Overview
This method involves 3 steps:
- Create items in your POS that represent set dollar amounts (ex. $5, $10, $15, etc.).
- Create corresponding products in TapMango's Portal and map them to the items in your POS.
- Create campaigns that will trigger when those dollar amount items are "purchased" and apply the corresponding funds to the customers TapMango wallet.
1. Create items in your POS that represent dollar amounts for wallet loads
You will first need to create preset dollar amounts as items in your register.
The steps required to do this will vary between POS systems, but the goal is to create several items that represent dollar values that a customer can load on to their TapMango wallet.
Create as many as you want and name them as you wish as long as they are clearly labeled for the TapMango wallet.
For Example: $5 Wallet Load, $10 Wallet Load, $15 Wallet Load, $20 Wallet Load, etc.
2. Create corresponding products in TapMango Portal and map them to the items in your POS
Once you've created the items in your POS system, you will need to create corresponding products in TapMango and map them to your POS items.
i. To create products in TapMango, log into Portal and click on the Products tab:
ii. Scroll to the bottom of the Products page and click Create New Product.
iii. Complete the product form as shown in the example image below and click Submit.
Category: Optional - for those who want to organize their multiple wallet products under a category.
Product Name: Product name should match the item name in your POS for easy identification.
Points: Set to 0 so that customers do not get points for paying for a wallet load
iv. A new Mapping tab will become available. Navigate to this tab and click the green Add Mapping button at the bottom left of the page. This is how you will link the TapMango product to your POS item.
Each POS integration has it's own requirements for mapping products. Some need to be mapped by item ID, SKU Numbers or by matching the names. You can review our guide Integration Specific Product Mapping for more information on your specific integration.
3. Create campaigns to load money on to TapMango wallets when customers pay for wallet loads
Now that you have created the Wallet Load items in your POS and the corresponding Wallet Load products in Tapmango Portal, you will need to create a campaign to add funds to customer wallets when they "purchase" one of the preset wallet load amounts.
i. In TapMango Portal, navigate to Campaigns > Manage Campaigns.
ii. Create a folder called "Wallet Loads."
iii. At the bottom of this folder, click + Create Activity to create the campaign trigger. In the "Trigger Type" dropdown, select the trigger When Customer Purchases 'X' N time(s)
Targeting: Select the locations/customer groups you want this campaign to work for. Leave as "All Customers" and "All Customer Groups" if there are no restrictions.
Product: Select one of the specific Wallet Load products you created earlier. You will need to make individual campaigns for each Wallet Load amount.
# of Purchases: set to 1
Run only once when conditions are valid: set to No
iv. Click Submit to save the trigger, and move on to creating the action. Click + Add Action.
v. In the "Action Type" dropdown, select Load Wallet and enter the appropriate value in the Amount field.
Amount: The dollar amount that will be loaded to the customers wallet. It should match the amount
vi. Once you click Submit, the campaign is done. You will just need to enable it by clicking the 3 dots to the right, followed by Activate.
Repeat step 3 for each of your wallet load amounts.
Restrictions
Only preset amounts can be loaded on to the wallet. For example, if a customer wants to load $38 to their TapMango wallet, but you've only created Wallet Load products in increments of $5 (ex. $5, $10, $15, $20) they won't be able to load that exact amount.
If the customer insists on loading an amount that is not preset, you will have to revert back to the manual method of loading wallet funds directly on the TapMango tablet.
