This is a simpler way of assigning points that does not require customer profiles to be upkept in Lightspeed. However, this does require you have one TapMango tablet per Lightspeed register.
1. Customer signs in to TapMango tablet
The first step is to make sure your customer signs in to their TapMango rewards account on the TapMango tablet. They can do this by one of three ways:
- Entering their phone number
- Scanning the barcode on their branded keytag
- Scanning the barcode on their mobile application
Keep your customer signed in
Your customer will need to stay checked in to their account on the TapMango tablet for the duration of their sale. If the tablet logs the customer out of their rewards account before payment is complete, the customer will not get points on the transaction.
If you have chatty customers or a longer than average sales process, you can increase your tablet timeout settings in Portal:
- Navigate to settings > advanced settings
- Change the value in 'Tablet Session Timeout (seconds)' to whatever length of time you want.
- Default is 120 seconds (2 minutes), but we suggest at least 180 seconds (3 minutes)
- Click save at the bottom to save.
2. Add items to the sale in Lightspeed-R
Whether you start the sale before or after the customer signs in to the tablet doesn't matter. What matters is that the customer is signed in before payment is made.
3. Redeem rewards/vouchers
Rewards must be redeemed directly from the TapMango tablet. If you want to redeem TapMango rewards directly from your Lightspeed R register, you will need to maintain Lightspeed customers.
4. Finish the sale in Lightspeed-R
As long as your customer is checked in to the paired TapMango tablet at the time of payment, they will receive points for the sale shortly after completion. You should also see the customers reward account sign out on the TapMango tablet upon the sale completion.
