Text Message Content Policy
Part of TapMango's core services is to provide marketing messages to your customers via SMS (or MMS when adding text to an image). In order to do this we must partner with different text message providers, which in term partner with the cell phone carriers that provide your customers with their phone service.
Both text message providers and cell phone carriers have different policies in place for what content is and isn't acceptable to send over text messages.
What Isn't Allowed?
While this list is not all encompassing - In general the following content should not be actively advertised in your text messages:
- Alcohol
- Affiliate lead or commission generation
- Auto Loans
- Credit repair programs
- Debt consolidation and reduction
- Debt forgiveness
- Deceptive Marketing
- Financial offerings
- Fraud, Spam, and Phishing
- Get rich quick programs
- Gambling (eg: Casino, Poker, Slots, etc)
- Health Insurance
- Illegal Substances (Cannabis)
- Investment opportunities
- Loans (exceptions may be considered for direct lenders only)
- Tax relief programs
- Work from home programs
What Happens If I send messages about the above?
Your messages will be blocked. Both our provider partners and cell phone carriers have filtering systems in place to recognize content that is against their content policies and messages sent containing such content will experience high failure rates and deliverability issues.
How Does TapMango Help?
Stopping Content Violations
TapMango has implemented a protection system for you - we'll evaluate any text message that is created in our system against an internal list of words/phrases we believe will violate our provider partner content policies. If your message contains anything against our database we'll block you from creating the message and explain which words need to be adjusted.
Please note: attempts to circumvent the text filter may result in the loss of your accounts SMS feature.
