Using Campaigns Triggers & Campaign Actions you can make points expire as a way to encourage your customers to spend them quickly. Below you'll find information about the two most common point expiration campaign types and how to make them yourself!
Limitations: Currently there is no way to have points expire based on when they were earned.
Expiration Based on Date
Points can be set to expire on a specific date and time, with the option to make the campaign recur automatically each year (e.g., at the end of the calendar year or on a custom annual date).
This expiration campaign applies simultaneously to all customers or to a specific targeted group.
Expiration Based on Activity
Points can be configured to expire based on individual customer activity. For example, you can set points to reset to zero if a customer has not checked in for a specific timeframe, such as 180 days after their last visit.
Unlike fixed-date campaigns, this campaign triggers dynamically for each customer based on their behavior.

Notify Your Customers
We recommend notifying customers before their points are set to expire as a curtesy as well as to avoid potential conflicts.
For instance, if customer points are set to be erased after 180 days without a purchase, you can create a campaign to send a text or email at the 130-day mark. This gives customers a 50-day window to visit your business, make a purchase, and keep their points active.
To create this campaign you will need to select the Trigger Type 'N Days after customer's last check-in' and the Action type as Send SMS or Send Email.
